Winters achieve Link Up accreditation, which is required to work on the rail infrastucture.
Link Up is the Supplier Approval Scheme, that Companies require to work on the Network Rail Infrastructure. Link-Up approved companies will go onto a database maintained by Achilles from which Train Operating Companies and Principal Contractors will select contractors and invite them to tender for work in the rail environment.
Given the dangerous nature of the rail environment the approval process is very demanding and companies wishing to become Link Up approved must pass a Link-Up Proof Scheme Audit.
This involves a visit by a Link-Up Auditor who will audit the Company's Management Systems, Personnel and Infrastructure to ensure that they are adequate to meet Network Rail's stringent standards for safety, quality and environmental performance.
