Scope of Works
Winters Electrical were awarded the electrical services package, of the refurbishment of the Grade II listed Old Marylebone Town Hall - now The Sammy Ofer Centre, London Business School.
The main contractors started on site in early 2015 and the renovation, which will significantly increase the London Business School footprint, was completed August 2017. The five-floor building with mezzanine boasts a new library, alumni centre and faculty suite, along with lounges, seminar, meeting and study rooms, lecture theatres and a boardroom.
Winters contract included the the electrical fitout, including the general, emergency and specialist lighting, small power, electrical distribution and fire alarm. This was a very challanging project in this Grade 2 listed property.
The Old Marylebone Town Hall registry office, still holds the birth, death and marriage records of the Royal family and other famous names from Sir Winston Churchill to Sir Paul McCartney.
The building is within an easy walk of the Sussex Place campus, and will increase the teaching and research space by 70%, it also provides cutting edge learning environment for new generations of business leaders.
The project was financed by an incredibly generous £25m donation pledged, through the Idan and Batia Ofer Family Foundation. The iconic building has been named in honour of Idan’s late father, distinguished philanthropist and shipping magnate Sammy Ofer KBE.
